Soft Sensors Material Study
Work so far:
I. 3d print soft sensors
II. steel & wool needle felted sensors (ongoing)
III. soft circuits, electroplated thread, & more (ongoing)
Wool Felted Sensors:
When folded, pressure applied, the LED light is ON! success!
Quick circuit test: coin battery, LED light, my conductive felt
Soft circuits, textiles, threads etc:
EMBROIDERED ELECTROPLATED THREAD:
Quick circuit test: coin battery, LED light, straight pattern
(Backside)
Success!
3D Printed Soft Sensors:
Ongoing personal work studying the fabrication approachs and applications of conductive TPU filament as material for prototyping soft sensors.
Specifically evaluting the material’s malleability, elasticity, softness and chemical properties to develop the best fit model for printing at various scales.
Materials in use:
NINJATEK EEL TPU, for resistive and malleable properties 3D FDM printer, direct-drive with dual extrusion
Digitally modeling in Blender Software
